Congratulations to Professor Dr. Yoon-Soo Kim

The Cambodian Student Association at Chonnam National University (CNU) is very happy and congratulates Professor Dr. Yoon-Soo Kim for his election as the 18th president of Chonnam National University. Dr. Yoon-Soo Kim is a professor in the Major of Wood Science and Engineering, Division of Forest Resources and Landscape Architecture, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. He will be president of CNU for 4 years from August 17, 2008.

The Cambodian Student Association (CNU-CSA) at Chonnam National University is very happy and congratulates Dr. Mao Sopheareth (Former president of CNU-CSA) for his news position as Dean of Faculty of Agro-Industry, Royal University of Agriculture in Cambodia. Dr. Mao Sopheareth have been appointed as dean by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia, since July, 2008.

The Cambodian Students at Chonnam National University are very happy and congratulate the Royal Government of Cambodia and all Cambodian people for the decision by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee to list the Preah Vihear Temple as World Heritage Site on July 7, 2008.

Monthly Scholarship to Nine Cambodian students

There was a dinner party hold at the Chinese Family Restaurant (복건껑) in Gwangju city on June 20th 2008 that sponsored by Mr. Sung-Mo Kim, Chairman of Red Mountain Company. The party was attended by Mr. Sung-Mo Kim, professor Dr. Joon-keun Park, Aroma Church's pastor and his wife, Mr. Suk-Bong Kim, Dr. Chae-Ok Kim, one church member, Cambodian students, Chinese student and Vietnamese student. In the party, Mr. Sung-Mo Kim gave the certificate of scholarship to each student and he will give monthly scholarship (100,000 won/month) to nine Cambodian students, one Chinese student and one Vietnamese student. The nine Cambodian students at CNU are Mr. Khay Sathya, Mr. Huon Thavrak, Mr. Yoeun Sereyvath, Miss Chhay Sreyleak, Mr. Hem Lina, Miss Taing Sreiny, Mr. Sar Kinal, Mr. Kong Chakrya and Mr. Chum Puthy Roath. Mr. Khay Sathya, president of CNU-CSA, represented all students there said thank you to Mr. Sung-Mo Kim, professor Dr. Joon-keun Park for their always support, and he also thanks to the Aroma Church's pastor, Mr. Suk-Bong Kim and Dr. Chae-Ok Kim for their support too.

News updates on April 2009:

On 21st June 2008, Mr. Sung-Mo Kim said to give monthly scholarship (100,000 won/month) to nine Cambodian students and another two students. But this schlarship has been terminated to Cambodian students since March 2009 without announcement.
