A Long-waited Day Has Finally Come...
CSA-Gwangju would like to express some congratulatory notes to the productive graduation of three of the fellow members, namely Ms. Nguon Vatha Bopharath, Mr.Chum Puthy Roath, and Mr. Phan, Veasna. After years of constant efforts and success in their studies, they finally made their day with great excitement and ecstasy.
Obviously, their graduation was specially honored by the presence of Mr. YongKwang Lee, CEO of Bio-propolis company, Korea. We are proud to thank Mr. YongKwang Lee for his towering presence on this precious day.
Last but not least, graduation is not the end, but the beginning, and CSA-Gwangju would like to wish these three recently graduated fellow Cambodians, either begining their particular careers, or pursueing higher education, all the best, and every success.

The sixth committee members of CSA-GWANGJU
The
selection of the sixth committee members of CSA-GWANGJU was held on the 27th
of October, 2012. As a result, Mr. Nguon Sovannarith was elected as President,
followed by Mr. Neung Saophuong as Vice President. Concurrently, Mr. Yen
Sophearith was selected as a General Secretary of CSA-GWANGJU by Mr. President.

Three of our alumni are appointed as Associate Professor
We would like to share
a great pleasure with our three alumni who have been appointed as Associate Professor at the Royal
University of Agriculture, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Dr. Chhay Kongkea has received his Doctoral degree from the
Department of Agricultural Economics at CNU in August 2006; Dr. Mao
Sopheareth has received his
Doctoral degree from the Department of Agricultural Chemistry at CNU in August
2007; and Dr. Huon Thavrak has received his Doctoral degree from the
Department of Biotechnology at CNU in February 2011. After their return, they
have been working actively and collaboratively with any relevant bodies to develop
human resources and improve the agricultural practices in Cambodia.
In this great honorable circumstance, we would like to wish three of you to
always stay in good health and succeed in all projects in order to continue contributing
to the development and improvement of agricultural field in Cambodia.

Mr. Lina Hem starts his professional career at Dongbu Company, Daejon
We would like to express
our great pleasure with Mr. Lina Hem, Ph.D candidate, in the Department of
Agriculture Chemistry, Agriculture College, CNU for starting his professional
career as a Researcher (one-year
contract) in the Plants Protection Team at Dongbu
Company, Daejon, Republic of Korea.
Lina received his Master Degree from the Department of Agriculture Chemistry in February 2009, after which he has been pursuing his Doctoral Degree at the same School. His research interest is the analysis of pesticide residues in fruits and vegetables. During his academic training, he has worked very hard and produced a lot of achievements in his field. He deserves to be rewarded this job.

Khmer New Year Party
In order to celebrate our Traditional Khmer New Year (the year of Golden Dragon), Cambodian Student Association in Gwangju (CSA-GWANGJU) organized a celebration party on the 14th of April, 2012. We prepared a variety of foods and drinks for all of our participants. We did enjoy grilling pork, seafood and duck meat in a garden at the Agriculture College of CNU. In this great occasion, Mr. Yong Kwang Lee, a President of Bioprotec Co Ltd was also presented. We would like to thank Mr. Veasna for his kind assistance in preparing all foodstuffs and Mr. Donang for his kind financial support for our drinks.

Cambodian intern student at GIST
GIST has accepted two Cambodian students from the Institute of Technology of Cambodia as the intern students in this 2012 spring semester. Mr. Piseth was affiliated in the School of Environmental Science and Engineering whereas Mr. Visot was affiliated in the School of Material Science and Engineering. Both of them will spend about 3 months to conduct their researches for their Bachelor’s theses.
